Vocabulary

Target audience: the group intended for the advertising, or piece of art
Message: what you are trying to say to the viewer

Dialog box (within an application): a box that can be formed in order to put some form of text within it 
Palette (within an application): the range of colors at the disposal of the artist 
Guidelines: lines that are formed by the rulers; they are used as a reference to were the objects should be put
Extensions: what the artist labels their work under in order to keep track of what system they used to make it
Contextual menu: menus at the side of the of you page the have tools that can assist an artist with their work
Clipping mask: a mask that can be formed in order to show what the artist wishes to be seen and blokes out everything else
Hue: is the lightness or darkness in a picture
Primary colors: colors that cannot anywhere but in nature
Secondary colors: colors formed by mixing primary colors
Tertiary colors: colors that are made by mixing a Secondary color and a primary color
Neutral colors: colors like black, white and brown that bring focus to the other colors
Continuous tone image: an image were all variations of color can be represented
Resolution: how clear an image is or how many pixel a image has
File size: the amount of disk space that is actually stored on a file
Flush left: all of the text is aligned to the left
Flush Right: all the text is aligned to the right
Justified: everything is aligned in the left and right columns so that it is a perfect box
Centered: it centers the lines of text; feels very formal
Small caps: capital letters that align at the waist line
Lining and numerals: every thing is uniform, not aligned 
Leading: the space in between the type
Margines: the white space on the top and bottom of the page
Kerning: lets you adjust the space in between letters
Tracking: Lets you adjust the spacing of an article
