Review Week 5

Line:
The lines in this lead the eye up and down, then the swirls at the bottom lead it out  and up again.
It makes you notice the shape of her dress and leads your eye directly to her face.

Shape:
Shape best fits this one because you can see the outline in full detail.
It also brings the eye in toward the center where most of the object are placed.
Texture:
The textured background gives the whole piece a older feeling to it,
also it compliments the theme of the whole poster
Value:
Their aren't any definite lines in this piece so you notice the value greatly, and you can
see the contrast of the face because of the shading
Space:
There is so much empty space that is makes you focus on the design and the message.
It makes this piece simple and affective.

Name the six (6) elements of design.
  1. Line
  2. Shape or Form
  3. Space
  4. Texture
  5. Value
  6. Color

What can lines aid in, when alone or combined with other lines or shapes?      Readability, appearance, and message of the design

Which lines suggest a feeling of rest? Why do you think?                                    Horizontal lines, because they are constantly affected by gravity

Vertical lines communicate a feeling of what? Why do you think?
A feeling of loftiness, because in relation to gravity they are only affected in one way
What lines suggest a feeling of movement? Why do you think?
Diagonal lines because they lean the eye

Soft, shallow curved lines suggest what? Why do you think?
Comfort, and relaxation, because they are soft on the eye and you don’t have to focus hard
